Industrial Songs of the British Isles

This participative workshop will cover as many British industries ( mostly now disappeared) as possible in the allotted time, mining, spinning, weaving, transportation, fishing, shipbuilding etc.The workshop leader will provide a little historical background to each and sing a couple of illustrative songs. Participants will be invited to contribute songs from the same or similar industries, not necessarily from the British Isles, so as to allow as many singers as possible to contribute as wide a selection of songs as will fit in the time span.
