Irish Whistle

There will be a strong emphasis on Irish music and technique pertaining to it. If there is any description offered, I am starting with a very basic introduction to the instrument, go through the ornamental techniques (cuts, taps, rolls), breathing, and appropriate use of tonguing. Then I will discuss the framework of a jig and reel and show how the techniques are used to enhance the rhythm and phrasing.
