Intermediate Flatpick for Guitar
by Richard Chance

This will focus on how to expand your flatpicking repertoire and improve both your playing and learning skills. This class will not venture into advanced level arrangements, and will be built around two fiddle tunes, provided in tablature as hand-outs for participants. One of the tunes will be a fairly basic, straight-forward tune for the beginning/intermediate player, and the other will be more complex and challenging. There will also be some tablature provided of several tags, endings, and embellishments to help you bring variety into your tunes. This class is for you if you h! ave basic rhythm guitar skills, can play simple or complex bass runs, and already know a few basic fiddle tunes. Even those with rudimentary flatpicking experience can learn something from the class. If you have a mini-disc or cassette recorder, bring it with you, and bring your guitar! This is a hands-on class, not a performance.

Richard is a native of North Carolina and plays both fingerpicked and flatpicked styles on acoustic guitar including folk, bluegrass, old time and Irish.
