Bulgarian Dance
by Carol Friedman
Bulgarian folk dancing is full of
wonderful, wild, dynamic rhythms. Carol Friedman traveled to Bulgaria
in August 2005 for the folk dance festival in Koprivchitsa, and danced
every day of the two-week trip. This workshop will consist of dances
she learned while she was in Bulgaria.
Carol loves to dance, and to share dances she loves.
She has been dancing since she was a kid, and remembers going Israeli
folk dancing with her great-aunt in Central Park, New York. She re-discovered
folk dance about ten years ago, taking classes with Carol Hirsch as
well as workshops whenever she could. She's been teaching international
folk dance since 2000, with classes in Point Reyes Station and Petaluma.
