Songs of Women's Work and Protest
with Estelle Freedman

A participatory workshop using folk songs to illustrate themes in the history of women in the U.S., with a focus on labor and politics in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

From slave lullabies to the blues to feminist anthems, this sing-a-long workshop teaches both U.S. women's history and favorite songs.

Estelle Freedman teaches women's history and feminist studies at Stanford University and is a long time member of the S.F. Folk Music Club.
