Melisse Leib teaches music to the families of the Mountain View Head Start and State Preschool, providing musical experiences in English and Spanish for predominantly Hispanic families with young children.. The classes are provided by Music for Families Outreach, an organization dedicated to reaching young children from low-income families. The goals of the program are for the families to acquire a joy of music that will remain with them for the rest of their lives, and to have them spend quality time with loved ones while making music in a nonjudgmental environment. She started the program in January 2005 with the backing of Music for Families Inc. after teaching music to families with young children for two years and wanting to make a difference in her community.
She enjoys facilitating music, games and laughter for children of all ages.
