An approach to discovering the mysteries of playing lead up the neck. Folk/country oriented. Helpful for players who know some chords and have a pretty good ear. Handouts provided.

Mac learned his chords and progressions years ago playing tenor banjo in Dixieland bands. Later, on guitar, he worked on ways to move from chords to lead playing, and these methods became the subject of this workshop--which he has given at the Free Folk Festival on and off since 1988. Today he plays for his own enjoyment and with friends.
