Irish Slow Session
hosted by Ann McChesney-Young & Jason Pollack

Join in the fun of playing Irish tunes together at slow and moderate speeds. Each person is welcome to start a tune that you know and set its speed.

First hour will be slower, second hour moderate/intermediate. Enjoy playing, listening, and learning. All instruments and skill levels are welcome.

For information on slow sessions and lots of tunes, see www.slowplayers.org. Information on session etiquette: www.slowplayers.org/BASS/etiquette.html

Ann McChesney-Young plays Irish button accordion, and has been playing in and facilitating slow sessions for several years. She is currently a member of the Jolly Clamdiggers tune learning session and the QueTrad-SF Quebecois session, and plays several other genres of music on piano accordion and piano.

Jason Pollack (flute, penny whistle) is an eclectic flutist and musician, being rooted in classical music as well as jazz, who now concentrates mostly on Irish traditional music. He is currently a member of the Starry Plough Irish session band in Berkeley, CA, and other Celtic groups, while still maintaining a foothold in the classical world as a member of the flute ensemble, Flutopia.
