Music 4 - Room #330

John Prine, one of the most influential singer/songwriter/performers of his time, often appears at the annual Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park. His melancholy and humorous folk/country songs tug at the soul.

Some of Prine's songs you may recognize are Paradise, Illegal Smile, Dear Abby, Please Don't Bury Me, Your Flag Decal, Angel From Montgomery, and Hello In There. We'll go around the circle giving participants an opportunity to lead or request John Prine songs. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll hurl... well, maybe not hurl.

Ed Hilton will lead this workshop. He has enjoyed John Prine's music since college. He has conducted many John Prine and other workshops at San Francisco Folk Music Club festivals and camp outs. He is president of SFFMC and a kindergarten teacher.

Check out www.sffmc.org for details on other club events or ask for a newsletter at the info desk. Coming shortly after the festival: SFFMC's 4th of July camp out... three days in the redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains at Boulder Creek. Y'all come on down and jam around the camp fires.
