The San Francisco Free Folk Festival is 100% volunteer-run -- none of the organizers, performers or workshop leaders get paid. As with all large events, we have major expenses. Building rental and publicity are the largest.

We ask for donations to help cover these costs. The SF Folk Music Club has in the past paid any shortfall the festival has incurred. However, the club's only source of reliable income is membership dues, and the club itself frequently runs at a loss and may be unable to continue subsidizing the festival in this way.

Please donate what you are able to the yellow cans around the festival. Donations of $5 or more at the front desk or info table earn you a commemorative button. You may also ask there for a tax-deductible receipt. We are a 501(c)3 organization, federal tax ID 94-3281922. Checks should be made payable to SFFMC (SF Folk Music Club). Enquire about membership!
