Children's Music Network Song Swap
Bonnie Lockhart & Nancy Schimmel
Sunday, June 22, 2014, 1:00pm - 1:50pm
Malvina Reynolds Room - Room #324/326

People of all ages are invited to share a song, sing along, or just listen. A place to learn, share and enjoy music for children. Also an opportunity to meet folks from the Children's Music Network and connect to their work with music and children.

Singer, songwriter and teaching artist Bonnie Lockhart combines a love of diverse folk traditions with an active commitment to participatory, community-building music.

Bonnie gives concerts for children and families at schools, libraries, festivals and community centers throughout the west coast. She is the past president and current ardent member of The Children's Music Network, a national organization that has been promoting the empowerment of children through music for over twenty five years.

Nancy Schimmel is a California storyteller, songwriter and activist who has used songs and stories to teach about US and California history, diversity and environmental issues. Her parents were both activists, so her family stories are stories of struggle going back to the nineteen-teens.
