Kuchipudi is a south Indian classical art form originated from Andhra Pradesh, South India. The beauty of this art form is spread world wide. It is known for its beautiful facial expressions and graceful movements. This workshop will introduce the art form and provide an insight into kuchipudi. It will go through the basic fundamentals and hand gestures.

Madhuri Kishore was initiated in the divine dance form of Kuchipudi at a tender age of five by Guru Kothapally Padma. She was further trained in this art form Guru Dr. Uma Rama Rao, Director of Lasya Priya Dance Academy, India.

Madhuri Kishore has given hundreds of performances all over India, and the United States. She has recieved several awards, prizes in recognition of her excellence. Apart from performing, she is also an accomplished dance teacher. Her creative choreography brings the dance theme alive with beautiful expressions and her own unique elegant steps. She played lead roles in several kuchipudi dance dramas directed by her Guru. Madhuri Kishore directed kuchipudi dance dramas like Gajendra Moksha, Mudhugare Yashodha, Ardhanareeswara Thatvam which her disciples performed at several ocassions. She, along with her students, participated in an historic guinness book of records event, the "International Kuchipudi Festival" held in 2008 at the Flint Center, Cupertino. She is a guinness book record holder for participating in the largest kuchipudi dance.

She started her school in the year 2005 and is one of the leading prominent kuchipudi schools in the bay area. Her students performed at various fund raising events and international events like International Spring Dance festival (SFO), International Kuchipudi Convention, Silicon Andhra, TANA (North America Telugu Organization), Asha Foundation (Berkeley), BATA, Yuva Bharati, ICC, India Waves, CCF. Madhuri Kishore's students also won several prizes in several national level competetions and talent shows. Apart from being a dance teacher, she is a Sr. Software Engineer in a reputed company located in Sunnyvale, California.
