Music 2 - Room #108

The Copper family is a family of singers who carried on a singing tradition of shepherds and farmers from of the South of England which has now almost disappeared. Their singing shows how compelling and sometimes haunting a cappella singing can be. Apart from being a family whose name begins with the letter "C," the Copper family is like the better-known Carter Family singers in the naive and unaffected integrity of its music. These are among the best songs for unaccompanied singing in the English language. If you enjoy unaccompanied singing, you should come, and learn - or share - some of these.

Bill has been active in singing around the Bay area since 1959, and is a regular at Hyde Street chantey sings since 1989.
