Days of Gold: Songs of the California Gold Rush
Karen Arlen & Nancie Kester
Sunday, June 22, 2014, 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Music 2 - Room #108

Days of Gold will feature the rousing songs of the Gold Rush as sung by the miners and immigrants from many lands who came to California to seek their fortunes. These songs were sung aboard ship, on wagon trains and around campfires. In this hands-on workshop, participants will feel a part of this vibrant period in California's history as they learn some of its authentic music.

Karen Arlen and Nancie Kester have presented numerous workshops on California history through song, and are co-authors of They Came Singing: Songs of California's History, Days of Gold! Songs of the California Gold Rush, and other publications.
