Your chance to be part of the Bay Area's premier folk event of the year. The San Francisco Free Folk Festival features both performance and participation in folk forms of music and dance of America and from around the world. And you are invited to be part of it.

We invite:

We are looking for performers of folk, traditional, acoustic and international music and dance who would like to play a 15- or 30-minute concert set during the Festival. Priority in booking will be given to 9-county Bay Area performers. If you would like to be considered for a spot, send information about yourself/your group by March 31. If you wish to play or sing, also send a demo tape (at least two songs, not necessarily professional quality). Video tapes of dancers would also be appreciated. Send to:

Lynda Mulvey
1142 Smith Ave
Campbell, CA 95008
(408) 370-7549

We are looking for teachers of folk, traditional, and international vocal and instrumental music and dance to teach one hour workshops at the festival. Past workshops have included: songwriting, salsa, waltz, blues guitar, Israeli dance, international folk dance, Swedish fiddle, etc. We are also lookin for storytellers, magicians, mimes, and musicians interested in teaching workshops geared toward families with children. To volunteer to lead a workshop, please call:

The life blood of the festival, volunteers are needed now to help with various forms of "spreading the word", planning, and administration. We will need lots more as the time approaches, from helping with parking to running sound systems. Get involved and help this festival be the most successful it can. Call volunteer coordinator:

This FREE Folk Festival is an ALL-VOLUNTEER celebration; no pay is available, but it is good for exposure, and perfomers are invited to offer recordings for sale.

See you at the festival!
