27th Annual San Francisco Free Folk Festival

June 21-22, 2003

WHAT: The San Francisco Free Folk Festival kicks off on Saturday, June 21 and runs through Sunday, June 22. Activities run from noon ‘til around 11pm both Saturday and Sunday. As the name suggests, the festival is free, and features folk, blues, new acoustic and international music.

In addition to performances by nationally recognized performers and favorite local artists, there are hands-on music and dance workshops, special children’s activities, and programs for the entire family.
Performers this year will include:
  • STEVE SESKIN, one of America's premiere songwriters

  • FOUR SHILLINGS SHORT, an internationally known diverse fusion of Celtic and American, East Indian, blues and jazz influences

  • Dynamic Irish Step Dance as performed by the MCBRIDE IRISH DANCERS

  • community-based WORLD HARMONY CHORUS

  • PATRICE HAAN & TONY MARCUS, a haunting duo of Irish harp, guitar and violin virtuosity

  • JUBILEE AMERICAN DANCE THEATER with vibrant social dances from around America

Food will be available onsite, and there will also be a Music and Crafts Marketplace.
