Cheyenne's Appalachian Review
Sixteen year old Cheyenne opens up the show with
a big California Howdy with her downhome personality, inviting everyone
to enjoy watching a heaping helping of country singing, music, traditional
Irish dancing, and authentic, Appalachian clogging. Special youth performers
such as fiddle player Torey Butner and award winning Irish step dancer
Mikhaela Rose round out the show. The apple doesn't fall far from the
tree in this case when Cheyenne introduces her mother Bluegrass
R & B artist
Summerlynn and session recording artists Rikki Gordon (drums & keys)
Chris Eakin (12 string guitar) and Rich Ryan on Bass.
Cheyenne
Performing at over 60 gigs a year teen Appalachian Clogger Cheyenne was
born into a family of actors, dancers, and musicians. Starting in stage
productions with her mother at age 5 it was evident that she could
never get over the thrill of performing. Introduced into ethnic dancing
such
as Greek, English Country, and Waltzes at
the
Dickens Fair, this prepared her for her biggest role of preserving her
Kentucky roots through the art of Appalachian clogging. Cheyenne is privileged
to perform and train with master choreographer's Matt Ellinger and Ian
Enriquez of the famous all male clogging troupe the "Barbary Coast
Cloggers".
Summerlynn
Has been singing since the tender age of 5 when she received her
first check for a store opening at the Cannery in Fishermen's Wharf.
At age 10 joined the latin 16 piece Orchestra "Los Ramblers" while
singing Country
and Bluegrass with the Travis Cale band on
the weekends. Her love for dance led her join the West Wind International
Folk Dance Ensemble at age 11. At 15 was the youngest company member
to dance the famous Rosa Montoya Bailes Flamenco's.
Torey Butner
Torey 13 years old studies fiddle with master bluegrass teacher Jack Tuttle.
Torey has performed and auditioned for the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival
and "Quest for the Best" youth
talent show at the beautiful Masonic Hall. To relax she plays soccer.
