Music 1 - Room #102

If you've never experienced playing a harp before, this is an introductory class that will give you your first opportunity to play a harp! You will learn how to find the notes (why some strings are colored red and blue), how to pluck with fingers and thumbs, and how to play a chord. You will even learn to play a simple song!

Verlene Schermer is a San Jose based harper and singer. She performs solo and in small groups locally, and gives concerts and workshops throughout the US in Europe. Verlene also maintains a schedule of private harp, voice, guitar and fiddle students, and performs on her double strung harp at Stanford Hospital for patients, family and staff.

She has published over 30 books of music for harp and has recorded 11 CDs of harp music.
