Strictly Bluegrass Jam
Jeanie & Chuck Poling
Sunday, June 10, 2012, 5:00pm
Jam Room - Room #117

Ever wonder how bluegrass pickers who don't even know each other can just pick like the dickens together and sing in three-part harmony? Bluegrass jams are fun but can be intimidating to a newbie who doesn't know the tribe's folkways and customs. At the beginning of this jam, Jeanie and Chuck will focus on bluegrass jam structure, etiquette, repertoire, and the peculiar lingo that bluegrassers use. And when they get done with the workshopping, everyone will jam!

Jeanie and Chuck Poling are longtime Folk Music Club members who met at Faith Petric's house in 1982 and have been playing music together ever since. They've been entertaining Bay Area audiences for over a decade as a duo and with their band - Jeanie and Chuck's Country Roundup. They also host the popular Bluegrass Country Jam at the Plough & Stars Pub in San Francisco, now in its tenth year. Jeanie and Chuck know hundreds of songs, but they won't be satisfied until they find the saddest country song ever written.
