Bob's concerts are a unique experience for the entire family to enjoy.The audience will become part of a performance that will will make them laugh, think, ponder and hopefully feel a little closer to those around them. A Bob Reid concert is an opportunity for families to share an afternoon of connecting through song and story.
A fifth-generation Californian of African American, Native American, French, Spanish, German, and Jewish descent, he is well known for the quality of his presentations for children which began in 1976 with the Monterey Peninsula Museum of Art's "Museum on Wheels" program. He was one of the original artists in the Santa Cruz County Cultral Council's SPECTRA in 1980. He has performed thousands of concerts, school assemblies, and workshops in various parts of the country and has gained a national reputation for quality work with children. His songs are sung by musicians, children, parents, and teachers throughout the country. He has been a California Arts Council Artist in Residence and has recorded three highly acclaimed collections of music for children, Bob Reid with Abracadab, Marz Barz, and We Are The Children. For three years, he hosted PBS-TV station KTEH's "Kid's Clubhouse."
