Sunday, June 9, 2013, 12:00pm
Dance 2 - North Gym
Unlike many dance activities Modern Western Square Dancing has no free form or memorized routines. Adult & Teen participants work as a 4 Couple (8 person) team/square. All moves are taught and then extemporaneously used by the caller to choreograph dances within the dancers capability. Dancers get physical & mental exercise executing the caller's instructions.
Age Suitability: Adults and Teens. Not suitable for children under 12.
Jim Osborne, Square Dance Instructor/Caller, has been teaching and calling Modern Western Square Dancing in Northern California for more than 40 years. He has been selected thirty times by Local Square Dancer Associations as a Top 10 Caller. Currently, he is calling weekly dances for four Bay Area Square Dance Clubs and weekend multi-club dances (Hoedowns) as well as regularly teaching and calling Square Dance Parties for non-experienced Square Dancers.
